Tudor Rose


Tudor Rose


This is Tudor Rose taken from the rose that was Henry's VIII rose. The inside pedals are always white, and the outside petals are red. The center of the rose is the crown with a jewel in the middle. The jewel is included in the chart pack. Smyra Cross, Basketweave, Continental , Diagonal Mosaic and Nobuko are used in this design. Mandarin Floss, Sparkle Braid , Splendor and Japan Gold are used in this design.



Christmas Balls


Alexandria


This ball is a miniature version of the Cameron Tartan Plaid, thus it is done in the plaid manner. This particular plaid is worn by the Alexandria, Virginia Bagpipe band. There is a bagpipe charm included to adorn the ball. It is stitched on #22 canvas. The original was stitched all in silk; however, floss colors are also given on the chart. Because it is a plaid it could be finished as a square for a gentleman's box top. Finishing instructions for turning it into a ball are given in the chart pack.



Burke


This Christmas ball is the first and designed to go onto a 4" Styrofoam ball. The design is stitched on ecru congress cloth using overdyed floss. Neon Rays, embroidery floss and Kreinik Braid. Finishing instructions are included. No alternate color combinations are given.

Corfu



This Christmas ball of 8 interlocking ribbons, each with its own pattern uses Needle Necessities overdyed floss, Rainbow Gallery Splendor, Arctic Rays, Petite Treasure Braid Neon Rays, Elegance, Mill Hill beads, and Impressions. It could be used as a box top as the chart is done in a square. This can be stitched on light blue congress cloth or LUGANA. A challenge to stitch.



Florence


This new Christmas Ball was inspired by a friend who said, "Why not do a Christmas Ball of Florence?" The city is all gold and red; so, here it is. This ball is done in the Florentine manner of Bargello. Carron Collection, Impressions and Watercolors are used and from Rainbow Gallery, Cashmere, Flair, Pebbly Perle, Splendor, Treasure Braid #16, Petite Treasure Braid, Petite Very Velvet and Patina. It is a very impressive Christmas Ball. This ball is worked on #22 canvas. Finishing instructions are included in the chart pack.



Hagerstown


Another ball that can be used at Christmas or throughout the year. A Bargello pattern stitched on Congress Cloth or Luguna with two different families of floss, 3 colors of each family. The ball is designed to go onto a 4" styrofoam ball. The background is a darning stitch done in Kreinik blending filament. Finishing instructions are included.



New Orleans Christmas Ball

This new Christmas Ball has color and is all set for a good time. It is taken from a Mardi Gras Mask. Thus, you have the Mardi Gras colors of Gold, Green and Purple. It is stitched on 24 white Congress cloth. Four colors of Splendor are used, 2 colors of Anchor Bates floss along with Coronet Braid #4, #8, and #16. Petite Frosty Rays makes the ruffle white 4 colors of Petite Treasure Braid are used for the background, unseen in photograph. Ribbon Floss makes the heart shaped mouth.



Newport

Newport is a study of royal blue and turquoise stitched on light blue Congress Cloth. A bargello ball using Splendor Silk, overdyed floss, and Kreinik Braid. This piece could also be used as a box top. Finishing instructions included for a 4" styrofoam ball.



Paris


This is a charted design using Congress Cloth and a wide variety of threads. The conformation is a crazy quilt patch in its most elegant meaning. This piece, named after the City of Lights, is a study of white, creams and gold. This ball uses silk, overdyed floss, perle cotton, metallics, rayon, linen and beads. Six different stitches are used. Finishing instructions are included.



Washington, D.C.


This ball represents our Nation's Capitol. Rainbow Gallery's Hi-Lights, Splendor, Treasure Braid, Petite Treasure Braid, Petite Very Velvet are used. Carron Collection's Impressions and Ribbon Floss are also used. 5 different stitches make this ball fun to stitch. Petite Point white canvas was used; however, Congress cloth could be used as well. Finishing instructions are included in chart pack.



Windsor

This elegant Christmas ball is Victorian in feeling utilizing the burgundy to pinks and deep greens to light greens that were prevalent during Victorian times. Four different Mill Hill beads are used along with blending filament to achieve the feeling. The original ball was stitched in silk Splendor. Needle Necessities overdyed floss and perle, and Kreinik #16 braid. Luguna or Congress Cloth can be used for the ground. DMC and Anchor floss are also given in the chart pack, alont with finishing instructions.

The Drum Major

A stand up piece for the counted thread stitcher. The model was done on Davos and can also be done on #18 mono canvas. This 12" figure is done with 9 different stitches using threads such as Matte 18, Neon Rays, Wisper, Patina, Pebbly perle, Kreinik Braid, floss, and overdyed floss.



The Drummer

The model was done on #18 white Davos and can also be done on #18 mono canvas. Fifteen different stitches, fifteen different threads were used. Floss, perle coton, Impressions, Neon Rays, Pebbly Perle, Wisper, Angora, Super Suede, Persian yarn, Designers Dream, Marlett, Frye Works,and overdyed floss are the stitches used. The drum head is ultra suede appliqued on with twisted cord. The drum head and drum sticks are included in the chart pack. Figure is #12 high.
